Ahhhh… We are finally travelling and finally have our blog/ website up and running!
It has been a long road to get here and make all of this happen. In the past 8 months, we have decided on RV life, bought an RV, remodeled our house for sale, sold our house, quit our jobs, bought a storage unit, filled the storage unit, emptied our house, officially moved into our RV fulltime, and started travelling. WHAT A WHIRLWIND?! (and we did most of this while working until the last week before we left)
But it is worth it! And we so glad to have all of you going on this journey with us. It has been a dream (one we did not think would ever happen) to live in a van or RV. A dream we have joked about for a few years now, always dismissing as an impossibility. We couldn’t do that- what about our jobs, what about 401ks, what about societal norms, what about the lack of fat people living in RVs, what about the space, what about if we kill each other, what about the money, what about.. what about.. what about?!?!
Honestly what about all those things? The truth is, dreams are dreams and almost any dream can be a reality if you are willing to be uncomfortable. There are answers for each of those questions. Most of the answers were not easy. And most of them meant we had to go against the grain, we had to take a more difficult path, and we had to replan our lives (over and over again). But what good isn’t a bit of a fight?
As we start this journey, we go with open eyes to the hardships we face, the fears we have, the excitements we can’t wait to experience, and a sense of adventure.
Living in a fat body is not easy when you live a conventional life (thanks fat phobia), but we expect it’ll be even harder when people see us living and thriving in these bodies- as we travel, hike, swim, bike, RV live, and more.
But we are up for the challenge. We only get one life and we are making the most of it. And we hope you enjoy this journey with us (and maybe start your own journeys)!
