HOW WE MET
We met like all new age couples meet via the internet aka Bumble. Breanne swiped yes on a Friday and Dave sent her a bunch of messages. Then on Saturday he asked for her phone number and ACTUALLY called. This both freaked Breanne out and intrigued her. She had been ghosted a lot so this level of aggressiveness was not something she was used to. By Sunday, we had our first date at Lola’s in Asbury Park.
It took about a month of dates before they became girlfriend/boyfriend official, when Dave got drunk while hosting an Elk’s Family Feud fundraiser and announced to everyone she was his girlfriend. And Breanne like the sound of that.
WHO MADE THE FIRST MOVE
Dave did. At the end of our first date, it put his hand in my hair and kissed.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE
Dave took me back to the place we had our first date, Lolas in Asbury Park. He built a wooden jewelry box to put the ring in. He was so nervous he got down on one knee before we could even order anything. And he proposed. Afterwards, we went to Bre’s favorite restaurant, Talula’s.
YOUR MOST MEMORABLE DATE
Dave: “The first time she cooked for me in her apartment and she made me breakfast.”
Bre: “The time we went out for my friend’s birthday and Dave got stuck in a foam pit. I have never laughed so hard.”
YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVITIES TOGETHER
Trying new things and travelling together. But also we love being home together too- snuggling on the couch, watching Netflix, working on the house, and playing with the animals (the chickens and the dogs).
THE BEST MEAL YOU HAVE EVER EATEN TOGETHER
Dave’s birthday dinner one year. Bre took Dave to Heirloom Kitchen in Old Bridge, NJ and had one of the best 4 course meals EVER! Also Better than Sex in Key West for dessert!
MOST MEMORABLE TRIP YOU HAVE TAKEN TOGETHER
Dave: “Our first trip to Mohonk Mountain. It was beautiful and very memorable.”
Bre: “Key West. We got to see a rescued turtle released.”
MOST SPONTANEOUS THING WE'VE DONE
Often when we are having a bad day or fighting a little, one of us will spontaneously pick somewhere to go and we just go. It always brightens the day. Last we went to Rat’s Restaurant for some amazing French food.
